First of all congratulations on doing your research about
the GMAT. That is by far one of the most important steps you can take on this
journey. The GMAT is not an easy exam. It is unlike most other competitive
aptitude tests, which only test you on concepts and memory. But the GMAT on the
other hand tests you on so much more:
- 1 Mental Agility
- 2. Observational Skills
- 3. Critical Thinking
- 4. Aptitude
- 5. Time Management
- 6. The ability to recognize that you do not know the answer to something
- 7. Basic Concepts of Math and English (Only 5%-10% of the actual test is concepts)
Well, to begin with it would be wise to focus on improving
these attributes while also learning the essential concepts. However, an easy
work around for this would be to look for GMAT coaching centres or someone who
takes GMAT classes near you.
