GMAT for slow learners

The GMAT can be a challenging exam to prepare for even for the best of us. So, do not be disheartened if you feel that you are a slow learner or if you feel that you do not have a high enough aptitude. And that is something that anyone studying for the GMAT should keep in mind. It is not an exam that tests the aptitude of the exam taker. It is a test of mental agility, time management and decision-making ability.

So, in order to do well, one must focus more on preparing for the exam rather than just learning the Math and English concepts. Any good GMAT coaching class will tell you the same thing. The GMAT only uses Math and English concepts as a medium to test your ability to make the best use of the resources and situations that are put in front of you.

PTE – Countries

The PTE or Pearson Test of English is conducted in order to test the English language proficiency of each candidate when the said candidate is aiming to immigrate either for education or employment purposes to a primarily English-speaking nation.

The main English-speaking countries in the world are the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. However, not all countries accept the PTE as proof of English language proficiency. The PTE is mostly accepted by the Australian government and educational institutions and by the New Zealand government and educational institutions.

The PTE has a remarkably similar format to the other English language tests that are recognized by the other countries and educational institutions, namely the TOEFL and IELTS.
It is recommended that you attend PTE classes not only to train for the exam but also to understand which exam in fact you should be taking.

GRE for dummies – Part 1

You might be surprised to know that of all the competitive exams out there to pursue your higher education in the western world, the GRE is by far one of the easiest exams to do well in. Now, to many of you that might come as a shock, because by no means is the GRE a particularly easy exam. However, if you are intimated by it, it is best to find good GRE classes near you and begin your work with them as soon as you can.

The GRE unlike say the GMAT, is a lot more straight forward in its approach to both studying and when it comes to preparing. Learning the concepts for the Quantitative sections should automatically help in securing a decent split score of something above 155. Now that may not be what you are aiming for, but unfortunately, only relying on learning the concepts to do well will only secure you that much.

GMAT for dummies – Part 1

First of all, if you are reading this, don’t be disheartened. The GMAT is not an insurmountable exam. There is a method to the madness of studying for the GMAT. Your best bet is to sign up at the best GMAT coaching classes in your area. And they will teach you how to go about preparing for the GMAT.

Often times, many students spend a lot of time on learning the concepts. While that in general is a good plan, it is however very insufficient to score well on the GMAT. Keep in mind that if you learn only the concepts without actually preparing for what the exam is actually testing you for, you are most likely to score in the 600s. But what if with just a little bit more effort you could aim a lot higher? Imagine that! A change in outlook towards the exam can vastly improve your performance.

GMAT for beginners

First of all congratulations on doing your research about the GMAT. That is by far one of the most important steps you can take on this journey. The GMAT is not an easy exam. It is unlike most other competitive aptitude tests, which only test you on concepts and memory. But the GMAT on the other hand tests you on so much more:

  • 1      Mental Agility
  • 2.       Observational Skills
  • 3.       Critical Thinking
  • 4.       Aptitude
  • 5.       Time Management
  • 6.       The ability to recognize that you do not know the answer to something
  • 7.       Basic Concepts of Math and English (Only 5%-10% of the actual test is concepts)

Well, to begin with it would be wise to focus on improving these attributes while also learning the essential concepts. However, an easy work around for this would be to look for GMAT coaching centres or someone who takes GMAT classes near you.
