Reattempting the GRE

There is only reason anyone would want to retake the GRE; to improve their score. Now, that may seem like an obvious statement to make, but what most people don’t understand is that if they don’t do something more or something different from when they studied for the GRE the first time around, then there is really not much of a chance that they will be able to improve their score.

Now, if you haven’t attended GRE classes to help you in your first attempt, then it would be wise to sign up for some good offline GRE coaching classes. Online GRE classes aren’t the best way to go about things as it almost amounts to studying on your own, and we know how that worked out. So try not to take any shortcuts in how you prepare for the GRE.

Best time to take the GRE

Wondering when in life would be the best time to take the GRE? Well, that would depend on when you are asking yourself this question.
If you are still in college and you’ve thought about doing your masters, then it would be best to take up the GRE in your prefinal year, irrespective of what course you are in. This will give you ample time to not only retake the GRE to improve your score but will also give you a head starton working on your application.
Your best bet would be to attend GRE classes while you are still in college, that way you are still familiar with learning rather than wait for a few years after your under graduation and lose touch with the Math and English concepts.

Best GRE classes – What they are supposed to teach you.

There is one thing that the best GRE coaching classes have in common – their determination in making sure every student that enters their institution scores high on the GRE and GMAT. Being one of the more competitive entrance exams, the GRE can prove to be difficult to prepare for and master for a lot of people who are aspiring to do their Masters, PG programs or PhDs.

That being said, if you attend the right GRE classes then you will be taught how to prepare your mind in addition to being taught how to solve the various types of questions on the GRE. This is a major draw back of taking online GRE classes.

GMAT – Crash Course

Ok first of all, it is generally recommended to take 6-10 weeks to prepare for your GMAT, provided you are an above average student and are aiming for a reasonably high score. That means, if you are someone who scored above 550 on the GMAT diagnostic test, then it should generally take you about two months of hard and smart work to make sure you get a score as close to 700 as possible.

This time span and resulting score can be greatly improved by signing up for GMAT coaching classes and will definitely improve your efficiency and your final score.

Studying on your own for such a short time is not recommended as you will not be able to cover all the tricks you will need to know to cross that all elusive 700 on the GMAT.
