How to prepare for the GMAT?

Preparing for the GMAT can be a tricky task, especially if you have not signed up for GMAT classes. Now, studying on your own is fine as long as you know what you are supposed to be doing. To begin with, you must first understand that the GMAT is not about learning concepts or about solving questions. It is a test of your aptitude and how quickly you can handle the problems thrown at you.

With that new change in the GMAT, it is not wrong to think that the exam has become a little easier, however, the right methods of preparation have remained unchanged. It is important to first familiarize yourself with the format of the exam, following which, you need to do your research on how to prepare. Signing up to be tutored with a GMAT coaching center is worth the extra effort and money, especially since they will guide you on what to do.

However, if you insist on going at it on your own, then the GMAT official guides are your best bet. It is highly recommended that you do NOT go overboard in the amount of GMAT preparatory material that you acquire as it can have the opposite of the desired results.

Can GMAT Classes help you get 700+?

Many a brave soul have attempted to take the GMAT on their own, without any external help but only some of them have gotten the scores they wanted. On the surface of it, the GMAT may look and feel like a difficult exam to study for and take up, but in all reality, it is simple and straightforward. Both in terms of preparing for the GMAT and in sitting for the actual exam, signing up for GMAT classes can really boost your performance, confidence and morale.

One such case is that of a particular student in Chennai, India, where she studied for over four months and only ended up with a 620, whereas when she decided to sign up for GMAT classes, her scored improved to 700 in a matter of a month and a half. It is important to note that the syllabus for the GMAT is fairly simple and that it is the way in which the questions are framed on the exam that make it so tricky.

Online vs Offline GMAT Classes - A comparison

Multiple GMAT centers and websites provide both online and offline GMAT classes, but there is always the question as to which one you should choose when preparing for the GMAT. One can argue that offline classes are the traditional way to go about things and are more interactive. However, if in case you have to travel too far for a class or if the timings just don’t suit you, then you are left with the choice of either struggling through by yourself or signing up for online classes.

That being said, the most important thing would be to find the right GMAT tutor for you. You will need someone who can adapt to your learning style and teach you how to think rather than just teach you how to solve problems.

How to find the best GMAT Classes in Chennai?

There are many centers that provide GMAT classes in Chennai, so it can be a difficult choice to make. Primarily because there are centres which have been around for decades and then there are new franchises and start ups. So, how would you choose? Simple, call them. Call as many as you can and find out what their GMAT classes are all about. Find out how they teach, what materials they provide and what sort of follow up they do to make sure you are on the right track.

Sure, there are at least twenty calls you need to make, but it sure is worth the effort considering that whoever you choose, will impact the rest of your life. So, my advice would be to do your research and make those initial few phone calls and try and figure out what is best for you.
And another thing, if the right centre is too far for you, remember one thing, those few extra minutes spent in travelling to the right place can make all the difference in the world to you.

What makes GMAT classes in Chennai in one centre different from the others?

Chennai is a hub for education and has been for decades. WIth prestigious institutions like IIT and Anna University, the quality of education in the city is of a high standard. But unfortunately, the same cannot be said when it concerns academic institutions which conduct GMAT classes.

A number of such institutions exist in the city, some of which are almost thirty years old. However, the quality maintained in these centers is sub par at best. It has become a very competitive market and such, the student’s best interests are not always kept in mind whilst conducting business or offering and executing their services.

That being said, there are some institutions that conduct GMAT classes Chennai, whose goals and policies are aligned with their students best interests and as such strive to deliver the best possible outcome for them. These are the institutions which do not have tie-ups with universities abroad. This allows the institute the freedom to send their students to the best universities that they can get into instead of trying to send them to tier three colleges in order for the institute to meet its bottom line.

How I scored a 740 on the GMAT by taking GMAT classes in Chennai

It was not an easy decision to take when you are studying for the GMAT, but one of the best choices I ever made was to attend GMAT classes in Chennai. You see, most of the official guide books will help you get a 600 to 650, if you practice properly and learn as you keep solving the questions, but to score anything above a 650 on the GMAT, it is best to take help.
The GMAT classes I attended were conducted three times a week and each class lasted no more than two hours. And within a span of two months, I was done with my GMAT preparation and I started to take mock tests. With every test I saw an improvement in my score and within another month, I was ready to take my test. And when I saw my score, after finishing the exam, I was proud of the fact that I chose to take the help of some very experienced people who were really invested in my future.
